Genre(s): Mystery, Psychological, School Life, Shounen
Number of chapters: 33
Main characters: to tell you the truth i wasn’t interested in any of the characters the plot around them was more interesting but her we go
Kyu Renjo - defiantly the most main character of the five main characters. the manga spends a lot of time on him before we even see any of the others. not much is know about his past except that at one time he was kidnapped and a detective saved him and that’s why he wants to be a detective. he seems to be really good at putting stuff together as well as noticing stuff that could be a clue. he was okay, very hyperactive.
Megumi Minami - probably going to be the love interest because she blushed a few times when talking to Kyu. has photographic memory so that was pretty interesting thing. the last chapter i read had someone saying they might want to take care of her. could be interesting but at this point i don’t care much
Ryu Amakusa - the smart one of the group, unlike Kyu who uses his instincts and is very quick about things, Ryu is calm and collected taking his time to think of things. he was the most quiet of the group, while this is supposed to make him “mysteries” this just made him fade into the background for me.
Kazuma Narusawa - he uses the internet and computer stuff to figure out his share of the stuff, they didn’t look much into him so yah not much to say about him.
Kintaro Toyama - he has really good sense of smell as well as a black belt in a few things, mostly there to do the action stuff i think. also didn’t get much time but got more then Kazuma. also he isn’t one of the smart ones he goes by instances and his gut feeling which manages to be right.
Plot: the plot is about a famous detective called Mr. Dan by everyone. since this is a detective manga you can guess that there is people dying in almost every chapter though the first one they actually see(not the face one Mr. Dan create as a test) is really interesting and i wanted to finish reading it. soon after i got bored though the characters aren’t that interesting and i was hoping for another murder.
What I Thought of the Manga as a Whole: As I wrote above the characters didn’t really interest me what did grab my interest was the murders. they were different then the few other detective mangas i have read and i was glad to see that. since this is a school manga they did dedicate a chapter of two to it(of what i read) but that wasn’t that interesting to me. maybe down the line it will but for now it didn’t, which is why i stopped reading it when i did. i’ll probably go back to read it again at a later date but i have more interesting things to read right now.
