Peggielene Bartels, A.K.A. King Peggy, is currently the King of Otuam, Ghana. She was chosen to be one of only three female kings in Ghana, and when she discovered that male chauvinists wanted her to only be a figurehead, she said: “They were treating me like I am a second-class citizen because I am a woman. I said, ‘Hell no, you’re not going to do this to a woman!’” When she encountered corruption and the threat of embezzlement to the royal funds, she declared “I’m going to squeeze their balls so hard their eyes pop!”

King Peggy has maintained her work in Ghana’s embassy in Washington, D.C. while making education affordable in Otuam, installing borehead wells to produce clean drinking water, enforcing incarceration laws to deal with domestic violence, replenishing the royal coffers by taxing Otuam’s fishing industry to improve life in the village, and appointing three women to her council.

“Nobody should tell you, ‘You’re a woman, you can’t do it,’” she insists. “You can do it. Be ready to accept it when the calling comes.”

So I did a re-draw thing. And obviously from September i have improved about 200%. Anatomy went up like 500 pts, eyes went up like 100 pts, coloring/shading went up 300pts, and head size went up (down, lol) 200 pts.

Obviously i have like a long ways to go still, but im stuck. So i know this is kind of weird to ask i guess, but i was wondering if you guys could send me criticism (dont be mean though, those are different things) because no one ever tells me what i can do better, they just pat my back and tell me it’s good even though i KNOW i can do like 200x better if i learned how. so suggestions and links to tutorials and stuff would just be really nice.

i don’t know really what your aim is when you say better, so i don’t know if this will be exactly what you want to hear. also before i tell you what you can fix i would like to say that i like how you draw now, it gives it a style all your own.

now i don’t have any tutorials to go with this but i can at least suggest stuff.

1) i would suggest putting some texture in her hair it will make it look less flat. also to go along with that a few wrinkles and cures in the cape. i mean right now it looks straight but capes don’t do that.

2) the lining could be cleaner but that is something that comes with practice from a steady hand(it only needs a little).

that’s all i can think of for fixing your art in general unless i know what kind of style you are aiming for. also in the second picture there is a white spot between her arm and her shirt.

it’s kind of hard to explain what Diskworld is in a small amount but it’s a growing world. with each book it grows more and more. I’ll try to explain it as best i can:

Terry Pratchett is an interesting write how he has it set up is that there are different main character the books focus on (like color of magic and interesting time focusing on rincewind while guards guards and men at arms focusing on the night watch) but the farther you go on in the series the more the world is advanced. if something changes in one book (like a newspaper is started like in the truth) then it will be around from that point on and the main character might come up in other books(like the person who runs the newspaper has a conversation with Vimes(head of the night watch) a few books later. also Vimes has a tendency to pop up in other book but then most of the books are in the main city of ankh-morpork which is where he is technically head of police.)
